Smoky wok-style fried rice with bacon, egg and vegetables, lit up with Olé Carolina Reaper Sriracha.
Serves: 2 | Prep: 5 min | Cook: 10 min
Heat warning: Olé Reaper is made with Carolina Reaper, one of the world's hottest chillies. Start with less than the recipe says and add more to taste.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cold cooked rice
- 1 tbsp oil
- 3 rashers bacon, chopped
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1½ tbsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp The Flavorsmith Olé Carolina Reaper Sriracha
- Spring onion
Method
- Heat the oil in a wok over high heat. Fry the bacon until crisp.
- Add the eggs and scramble until just set. Push to the side.
- Add the vegetables and garlic and stir-fry 1 minute.
- Add the rice and stir-fry 3–4 minutes, breaking up clumps.
- Mix the soy sauce and Olé Reaper, pour over and toss well. Finish with spring onion.
Chef's tip: Mixing the Reaper into the soy first spreads the heat evenly — no surprise hot spots.
